Successor

A successor is an entity with at least one incoming edge. Although entities are not required to have any incoming edges, every junctor must have at least one incoming edge, so every junctor is also by definition a predecessor.

Indirect Successors

In the following illustration, D has two successors: B (a direct successor) and A (an indirect successor.)
